how to make changes made through terminal permanent so that I don't have to repeat lengthy procedures at every reboot?

Asked by Phoenix Itaan

I made webcam logitech e2500 work either in skype and in cheese, but I suppose that the changes to the drivers and video devices etc I made following the procedure at actionshrimp.com and also making up some details on my own will go lost at rebooting. Can I somehow save the configuration before shutting down? Make these changes permanent?

AFAIK: If you are setting environment variables with the export command you might add them in your ~/.bashrc
or globaly in /etc/profile
