Well this is an Ubuntu Forum, Mint is based on Ubuntu but they may have a forum also to assist more effectively with your issue.

The command you are trying to run seems a little odd, what is it your are trying to achieve?

I am trying to get my epson V100 scanner to be recognised and "sane-find-scanner" reports "vendor=0x04b8/product=0x012d". So I typed in terminal programme "sudo usb 0x012d 0x04b8" and it said "usb command not found". So I wondered how I can get the command recognised ?

tnx for answering.

That is not quite how the terminal works.

I suggest reading this a little before trying anything: http://library.gnome.org/users/gnome-terminal/stable/index-info.html.en

I'm not aware if Synaptic is available under Mint but if it is, I would suggest running that and searching for "Epson" or "scanner" to see what packages are available to you.
