Thank you for your comments. This does not appear to be a bug report and we are closing it. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise your question in the support tracker. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu

The root account is not directly accessible in ubuntu. However, there are many ways to execute commands as root or even get a root shell.

All this is explained here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo

However, as I see you're french (French messages in your console output pasted above) you'll certainly like to have a read at:

It can easily be directly accessed in ubuntu.
Right click your Applications Menu
-> Select "Edit Menus"
Click "System Tools
-> Click the box beside "Root Terminal"
Close the App

You'll now see Root Terminal in your gnome Menu under System Tools
You enter your su password on launch, then it's all fair game in the terminal after that.
Cheers

Il peut facilement être consulté directement dans Ubuntu.
Cliquez avec le bouton droit de votre menu Applications
--> Sélectionnez "Modifier les menus"

How horrible is the above translation?
Comment est horrible au-dessus de la traduction?

Just Curious.

Directions got translated alright, as well as simple sentences.

The mess begins at : then it's all fair game in the terminal after that.

Cheers
