Remove Windows partition

You can do all using and booting from the Ubuntu 7.10 live install cd...
Using "Partition Editor"
you can delete NTFS partition and you can also resize the ext3 / partition

1) Boot from Ubuntu 7.10 live cd
2) From from System->Administration look for Partition Editor menu
3) Delete your NTFS partition
4) Resize you ext3 "/" Partition

After, grub need a little reconfiguration.

Hope this helps

I suggest the same as marcobra.

If you dont have the Partition Editor, remember that you may get it through Applications->Add and eliminate applications, then searching for gparted.

I would like to comment that you must not worry about your computer nor english (which you speak well, as far as I see) knowledge.

Its kind of obvious, but I would still like to remark that getting rid of Windows in favor for Ubuntu is an excellent idea.

Hi!

That is not an answer! He have problems with ubuntu and you tell him that he must remove Windows. That isnt the way to answer, you arent telling him something useful.

Try to log in in Terminal. Press Ctrl + Alt + F1 and then log in. Then, if you have root permisions do the following things:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y

This is useful if you need to upgrade any package that is not functional and needs an upgrade. If the problem appears again you can delete the following folder:

logged in terminal

 rm /home/yourhomefolder/.gconf -R

The folder called .gconf keeps inside all the configuration data of your gnome desktop. If you delete it, all you gnome data will be erased but if the problem is related with this ( must be) folder, it will be solved.

I really hope that you could solved it.

See you!

Can you help with this problem?
