are you sure you can't type??
When it ask for your password, but wont appear anything there, I mean it wont show that you are able to type.

Just go ahead and type your password even if you don't see a thing. When you enter your password in the terminal there's no visual feedback (no asterisks), but it's still accepting your password.

Check if you can login in tty (press CTRL+ALT+F1).
Press CTRL+ALT+F7 to switch back.

I have the same problem as legendata had. When I tried the suggestion that Max wrote I found that I couldn't make it work there also. Being new to Linux I guess that I may have glazed over during a step loading the OS. How do I fix this?

Hi. Max Schukin's tip worked. Typed in my password, even though I couldn't see anything and my command worked. Thanks alot! :)
