What version of Ubuntu are you running, and what browser do you want to update?

What printer do you have? Without the make and model we cannot possibly advise. Imagine if someone said "Windows will not operate my printer?" what advice can you possibly give based on such basic details. We cannot see your system. You have to fill us in.

Please explain your question, "Can I use Word instead of Linux?" Word is a program, Linux is an operating system. Must have more information to answer, "How can I get an updated browser?". Which browser?? #2 needs an answer, #3 needs an answer. Have you downloaded a printer driver? There are three people trying to answer, please help.
