can not enter leter or number in the virtualBox terminal

I try to install QIIME in the virtualBox step by step. According to intructions, I opened the terminal and imput command (sudo /media/VBOXADDITIONS_4.0.2_69518/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run), then prompted ([sudo] password for qiime: ). But the problem looms: I can not enter any leter or number behind the hint.

When you enter the password in terminal you will not get feedback. Just keep typing the password and hit ENTER.
