How can I re position the sidebar. If so can I get a link to a Wiki?

I would like to change the position of the sidebar in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Version

The Unity bar is immovable. There is a PPA with a version at the bottom but it's known to cause issues.

Sorry to get hopes up. The PPA is Oneiric only (Which is EOL)
