dpkg interrompu, comment corriger le problème

dpkg a été interrompu , synaptic mr donne cette information: E: dpkg a été interrompu. Il est nécessaire d'utiliser « dpkg --configure -a » pour corriger le problème.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
mes essais pour reproduire cette information sur le terminal échouent sur commande inconnue!
Est-ce qu'il manque des informations?

Open a terminal using the key combination strg-alt-t

and enter

sudo dpkg --configure -a
