doesnt load/need term/dont have it: how to open a terminal

want to do fix for software doesnt load. requires an action at prompt. dont have terminal in installation.

how do i install as apt get etc or perform system actions if i dont have a terminal shell?

Press CTRL, ALT and T together and it should appear. It's also in the menu somewhere.

If you can't find it let us know if you are using Ubuntu, Kubuntu etc and which release (eg 12.04) and we will let you know how to find it.
