why won't my linux command line accept my password?

i'm trying to add a device pairing to my system and when i type the code it asks for my password and it doesn't take the password...what do i do

As stated above when you enter your password there is no feedback. This is intentional so that someone looking at the sort of outputs seen here all the time does not even know the length of a password making it harder to guess.

If you have now fixed the problem please mark the question as solved. If not; you enter the password, press Enter and its not being accepted; give us more detail of what you are trying to do and the error messages you are receiving. We will try and assist further.
