how do I input my password when the terminal asks for it? It's not letting me do it.

Asked by David Kirby

I'm trying to download libdvdcss2 (so I can play commercial dvd's), via the terminal. After inputting all the pertinent data, the terminal asks for my password. It won't accept my password (at least, the only password I'm aware of) into the terminal. What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't the terninal print my password, even if it's wrong?

the terminal will not show you typing the password, however it is typing it. Just ignore the fact that the cursor doesn't move, type your password, followed by enter, and it should be fine.
