unable to authenticate password on terminal to gain administrative privileges

when i inst all an executable from the terminal i am unable to input my password to authenticate my user

Please ask how to do it in the answer tracker, that's not a terminal bug.

when you type the password you will not see any screen chars, so type in then press enter
