Mounting NTSF Drivers in UBUNTU

Asked by Alan Goldstone

September issue of PC World mentions mounting NTSF-3g project to mount NTSF Drivers which are downloaded from WWW.linnux-ntsf.org.
I've downloded the latest version, NTSF-3-1.826 and tried to mount it with "mount -t ntsf-3g /dev/sdal /mnt/windows" after making the directory "windows" under mnt.
This command was furnished in the article on how to install this item.

As usual, the terminal will not accept the command, returning "Unknown file".

If anyone has any experience mounting this read-write mode, please tell me how to get around this error.
Thanks,
Alan

the latest ubuntu versions come with ntfs-3g in the repositorys and you should always use that if possible.
sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g ntfs-config
^^ that command should install it great along with an auto config tool as well, which can be launched from the system menu or by running the command gksudo ntfs-config

Hi Gord,
Talk about prompt action! Your command code worked perfectly and now I'm in good shape. Thanks very much... can/t believe that my posted mail and yours were only 7 minutes apart. WOW!
Thanks again
Alan
