how do i install Veetle TV 0.9.17 in Ubuntu 10.10 beta

I'm trying to install Veetle TV 0.9.17 for Ubuntu 10.10 Beta.

I have already downloaded the 26mb tarball for manual installation. If I correctly recall, this is the recommended way to install. However, I'm not sure.

Should I also download the self-contained 35mb installer?

Could someone please advise on how to proceed.

in the guide it states root password which doesn't exist. Just use your own password and it will work.
