Terminal

Asked by arepis

Hi. Im trying to set my new root password. So I type this command '$sudo passwd root' as written in the website. So after that it will ask me enter new unix password. The problem is I cannot type anything to set my new password. My keyboard works fine with anything else. Only has problem with everytime I want to enter password on the terminal. So can you enlighten me with some solution?

by default your password is not showen as you type it, this is a securty mesure. you just type your password and press enter. rest assured it has changed. you first have to type your normal login password to enable sudo
