how do you output

in the terminal, i typed in "user@home~:$ glxinfo | grep rendering" but i cant get the output. i tried enter, but that doesnt work. its supposed to have an answer, but it just goes to a space to type another command

Are you sure you are just entering "glxinfo | grep rendering"? the
previous was just telling you to enter it at a prompt.

Only answer is you must be typing it incorrectly in to the terminal, if
you're including "user@home~:$" this is incorrect it's simply shoulding
you to use it at the prompt, judgnig by the way you phrased that I'm
thinking you were including it.
