Will gnome-software-plugin-snap appear in Debian?

Asked by d❤vid on 2017-09-14

I am using Debian and can't install gnome-software-plugin-snap. It doesn't appear to be packaged:

https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=gnome-software-plugin

Are there plans to release and maintain this plugin upstream?

(snapd itself is already packaged for Debian -- I can install snaps from the command line)

This is offtopic here. This site is for and about Ubuntu, not Debian.

My understanding is that this package is developed by the Snap team (i.e. Ubuntu/Canonical developers).

What is the appropriate public forum for asking the package authors about distribution in other environments?

A snap is a snap so should work. Your Debian forum will know what is happening in Debian.

From https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=877684 :
