Gnome-Shell 3.6 Message Tray on Ubuntu 12.10

Asked by Dave

I was in love with the cleverly contrasted shadow design the previous tray had. I noticed my entire screen lifts up when checking on my indicators which was a shock at first.

I understand that some want a design similar to another OS's tray, but I thought that the simple, shadow design that contrasted with the top panel, had an amazing effect on Gnome, as well as the entire shell's outlook with the Dash.

If there is anyway possible, to revert or change the current chunky, screen-moving message tray back to it's previous shadowy design, please let me know.

Again, I appreciate all of the hard work, but again, a lot of us had fallen in love with the shadow.

already have, very much like this current question. on the precise Gnome-Shell message-tray 're-design' suggestion made by certain people... i don't know where they got the idea, or what made them dislike the previous tray, but it is what actually grabbed
my attention on GNOME-SHELL integrated with Ubuntu 12.04 in the very beginning.

...other thoughts on this topic include:
I've been around since Ubuntu 5.10 and have been amazed how much they have come since the old Gnome days around '03/'04. This is the first time I have been stolen from the Land of Winblows. I've always been in and out of the open-source scene trying all different flavors throughout the years, but Ubuntu has stuck with me, and since discovering Gnome-Shell 3 along with their Dash, Message Tray (Shadowy Design one!), and countless other intuitive designs... it's been a wonderful ride, and thrill waiting for what's next.
Conclusion to this question if it is not answered in due time:
Though, we all can't be happy I can understand this when we try to satisfy millions of users with designs, bug-fixes, etc... but I would have liked to have an ALTERNATIVE OPTION for "Theming" the Message Tray.

Could you link the bug report? I can't find it... I'm happy with the "old" behavior of the message tray, too. Especially I don't like to click to let the tray disappear.

Can you help with this problem?
