gnome 3 not working in wmware workstation 8. How to solve

i am using windows 7 as host and ubuntu 11.04 as guest.

Gnome3 is not compatible with Natty, so you will get issues. Its nothing to do with the fact that you are using it in VMWare, it just doesn't work and any guide worth it's salt will WARN you that it will BREAK your OS.

If you want Gnome3 THAT badly, install Oneiric.
