Extensions turned off on every boot

Asked by Christopher

Every time I boot 15.04 I have only the Activities menu visible, even though I have several extensions installed that; among other things replaces the Activities menu with Applications and Places.

This occurs on two separate upgrades from 14.10 on different platforms. For a time the window decorations (Max/Min) also disabled themselves but that seems to have been solved in a update. Perhaps they are related.

Ubuntu 15.04 is currently in development. Official release date will be in two months' time. You cannot expect that it already complete and error-free.

If you want, please create a bug report, and the developers will check the problem and (if applicable) provide a corrected version in the final 15.04 Ubuntu version.

Of course I don't expect it to be error free, but I thought someone might have a fix. I have several partitions on this computer and 15.04 is clearly not the one I use for daily work.

I suggest you report a bug. Vivid is not ready and not stable.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Christopher for more information if necessary.
