update-grub disturb the airplane hotkey

Asked by Jean Tinguely Awais

Hello,
I make a build for my computer with ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS then I add a package tuxedo-wmi-dkms.deb to make the hotkey [FN]+[F11] work as airplane toggle button. It works fine: bluetooth and wifi are toggling!
Only if I make a sudo update-grub then after it won't work anymor: only the bluetooth is toggling, not the wifi. Does somebody have an idea of what happend?
Best regards.

From freenode #grub:
[09:50] <jta_1972> Well it's an update-grub problem. What's happening that can make the airplane key to not work proper anymore?
[09:50] <jta_1972> I dont'understand what update-grub make.
[09:50] <jta_1972> Who can explain me?
[10:07] <linuxmodder> jta_1972, update-grub runs sudo grub2-mkconfig -o $distro_specific_path (normally /etc/grub2.cfg OR /etc/grub2-efi.cfg)
[10:07] <linuxmodder> /eetc/grub2.cfg /etc/grub2-efi.cfg are symlinks btw
[10:08] <linuxmodder> this mkconfig operation rebuilds your grub.cfg per the data in /etc/grub.d/*

On Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
jean@sibold-desktop:~$ sudo find / -name grub*mkconfig
/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig
