How to remove icon from top bar when using Classic desktop with Ubuntu 12.04

I'm using the Classic interface with Ubuntu 12.04. I have put shortcut icons on the top bar, but now I want to remove one. I can't see any way to remove icons from the top bar.

Also, installed Google Earth. It doesn't work, and, again, I can't seem to be able to remove it.

Andrew is correct about removing icons from Ubuntu classic: right click.

If that does not help open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) Enter the following command and paste the output back here

---------------------------------------------------------------------
lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | grep 'google'
-------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what I get:

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS

Codename: precise
uname: invalid option -- 'l'

As for the icon, I have tried right clicking and what I get is a dropdown with only "Launch" and "Properties."

Hi ,

try Alt+Super key + right click on the panel.
OR
Super + right click on panel..

You will see an old-like menu from gnome 2 :-)

Super key = Windows key . :-)
