Install Gnome 3 on Ubuntu 10.10

Asked by Victor Levasseur

Hello,

Because Gnome will soon release, I want to install it on Ubuntu 10.10.
I've already gnome-shell, but it is the version 2.32, a very old version.

But, I saw a lot of PPA which contain Gnome3, but it's for Ubuntu 11.04.

So, why there is no PPA of Gnome 3 for 10.10 ? And can I install 11.04 packages on Ubuntu 10.10 ?

Thanks,
Victor Levasseur.
