Ubuntu One

Asked by Margaret Mackintosh

Hi,

I have been trying to logon Ubuntu One. I thought my password for Launchpad was the one I also used for Ubuntu One. But, keeps telling me there is a ERROR. So I am unable to login on Ubuntu One. Just now I Googled 'Launchpad' and clicked Answers and was told I could not login on it either. So I got up one of the emails I received from people on Lauchpad and am able to write this. Hope I can also send it. I wanted to use Ubuntu One to back up my files but cannot even log on. So any suggestions?

This has nothing to do with a Screensaver. This link just was the only way I had to ask my question.

If you go to the ubuntuone website, can you change it there?

Hi,

Just went to Ubuntu One web site. Says if I have Ubuntu installed it is installed also by default. Rest is for people with other systems. So I still am not able to logon to Ubuntu One or Launchpad. In order to solve my last question about the panel. I had to reinstall 'Ubuntu-12.04 desktop-i386.iso 32 bit' that I still have on a DVD from when I first installed it. After it installed I had also updated it using Update Manager (since it popped up with 450 files) to bring this back up to date. Have the panel and Menu bar back. So took care of that. I do not necessarily need Ubuntu One, just need a back up system and thought I would use it since it was suppose to be available.

Hi,

Just now clicked again on 'Launchpad'.. This time I was actually about to get it online. Will try the same for Ubuntu One and see what I get. So problem is half solved.

Clicked on the Ubuntu One icon that is in my panel. Came up and I clicked 'logon with existing account'... I put my email address in and then clicked 'Forgot Password', to find out what the password it had for me. Instead a window poped up asking for a code that was sent to me and a new password. Retrived the code, wrote it in and made up a new password. But, when I clicked continue or what ever I still could not login on Ubuntu One.

So figured I would get on Lauchpad again. But, this time when I put the password in for Launchpad it said it was the wrong one. So thought I would try the new one I made up for Ubuntu and it works great for Lauchpad but won't work at all on Ubuntu One. So there must be a bug or something there.

I just tried at 4:10 PM EST to log in to Ubuntu One. Couldn't. Got this message: "Error downloading https://one.ubuntu.com/oauth/sso-finished-so-get-token". What does this mean and is it fixable? I use the same name and password for launchpad and it works fine with launchpad.
