please provide output of
uname -a; lsb_release -a

thanks

name: Paul Catherine, release ubuntu 12.04 after recent upgrade on-line of 11.10
is this what you needed?

yes. i want to activate screen saver. i can't see the tab (screen saver) in All Settings-Appearance. I do not also see the tab to download additional backgrounds. I could do so when i started with 9.1ubuntu.

There is actually no provision in 12.04 to do what you want at the moment. You could take a look at: http://a1.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/ubuntu-1204-explained-setting-up.html but note that this does not carry an Ubuntu approval so be careful - if it goes wrong we don't have a solution here.

you can install gnome-screensaver which is default screen saver for 12.04

Thank you. It works.

Thanks Jeet, that solved my question.
