Where is the screensaver? AND a few suggestions.

Asked by ChuckL

Having installed 11.10, i AM UNABLE TO FIND THE SCREENSAVER.

The screensaver is much more important to me than replacing the launch methods from the drop down,, or pop up as I have set them than the addition of extra button clicks to even find what I am looking for.

Why is change done only for change sake? Change should be used to improve what is there and fix what's broken.

Change should NEVER BREAK things just to change them. That is a Microsoft practice that should never be followed, but if it is going to be done anyway, at least tell us what will no longer work.

Telling us what we will have is a sales pitch. Only when you add what we will lose have you given us a choice.

Now a request, or rather several of them. Kill the automatic "full screen" whenever the application window touches the top of the monitor. My mother taught me a long time ago to not use the language that this ?"improvement?" generates.

Whenever you add a "cute feature", at the very minimum make it selectable with the selection capability a button on the monitor. The application bar would work well for this.

And finally this time, PLEASE make it possible to update the OS without changing the rest of the installed programs. IBm'S OS2 could be installed into a separate partition from the applications and the data into another partition or folder from the applications. It was easy. Linux is an excellent operating system. I am sure that the same thing could be done in Linux. may require a larger hard drive, but with 500 GB drives availale at retail for less than $60.00 this is not a problem.

Calm down. It's called a regression. It happens. You don't need a large drive for Linux. My install is little over 3Gb and has every codec you can think of.

If you disable the grid plugin in compiz, it will not automatically maximise or do the aero snap thing on the sides either.

Is that the only question in your rant?
