Gnome-Screensaver asks for password twice when lock screen set

Asked by mark541

After a clean install of Ubuntu 10.04, when my screensave is activated, it will prompt twice for my password. When I wish to resume use of my computer, gnome-screensaver will prompt for my password, then after it's entered, will pause for a second, then prompt for my password again. This only occurs when the "Lock screen when screensaver is active" option is checked.
My expectation is that only one password prompt would be needed, that's all that occurred in Ubuntu 9.10.
If the option is unchecked, no password is required.
Check it again, it returns to two password prompts.
