molecule screensaver freezes up ubuntu

My skreensaver "molec" coses my computer to freeze up and now I can't change it. when ever I try and enter the screensaver gui to change it everything freezes. what can I do?

or to get rid of this select a different fixed not random screensaver from menu:
System→Preferences→Screensaver

Any update on the molecule screen-saver. Has it been fixed?
