dial up modem connection

Asked by nomatoca

I plan to sign up with a dial up ISP and currently use ubuntu 7.10 on my desktop. The unit has a 56k modem. Will I need any additional drivers or such to connect to the WEB or is everything needed already installed with 7.10? Even as a college grad. I'm am not good at all with computer programing i.e entering command lines and such so please keep this in mind. Thanks much.

I suggest you don't buy Dial-Up. Why?

IT IS THE SLOWEST POSSIBLE INTERNET CONNECTION EVER!!!!

Might as well have snails run to and from places to retrieve information. I would rather by a Wireless adapter and use your neighbor's connection.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask nomatoca for more information if necessary.
