Iball 3.5G USB modem not working in Ubuntu 10.04

I am trying to use iBall 3.5g connect wireless modem on ubuntu 10.04 but its not working,
its getting detected as usb mass storage, somehow its not getting switched
can anybody please let me know the procedure to be followed

below are the details for commands

by connecting/disconnecting the device i got that below lsusb result is for iball 3.5g modem

on connecting the iball usb modem and typing dmesg on terminal last message i am getting

Lucid is EOL next month. I suggest a clean install of Precise.

Can you help with this problem?
