ubuntu 9.10 freezes when switching to battery power

my laptop freezes when i pull out my ac/dc-adapter. furthermore, it won't boot on battery power (cant get further than GRUB)
when i plug in the adapter the PC would just run fine!!
i'm running ubuntu 9.10 beta and updated it to the end!

Log a bug

You may get joy if turn off acpi in the kernel using bootoptions:

oke i'll try it tomorrow, but a previos 9.04 installation hasn't got this bug, it just used my battery.

ok tried adding <acpi=off> and <set acpi=off> none of them worked!!
