Netbook remix will not suspend or hibernate

Netbook remix will not suspend or hibernate on msi u120. When I ask it to do either, it first disconnects from the network. Then in about 7 seconds it starts reconnecting. After reconnecting it continues like nothing happened. All power settings are correct and have not been changed from the default. If I disconnect from power it just stays until it crashes from lack of power. It worked fin up until about 4 weeks ago.
