System does not suspend on laptop close

Asked by Massimo

Closing the laptop lid on my Dell Latitude E6400 doesn't trigger a suspend operation as I would expect. Manually clicking the suspend option from the menu works great.

Do you mean that closing your laptop lid does not suspend even if you goto System->Preferences->Power Management and set "suspend" as the behavior for "When laptop lid is closed?"

Or are you suggesting that "Suspend" be the default action?

If it is the former, I don't think this qualifies as a papercut since it is likely very hardware specific.

Easily configured by user in Power Management dialog. Thanks!
