Asked by Rob Kitsune on 2011-05-14

i am currently running linux of a 4gb flash drive and am having aproblem when i am on batery power.
when i close the lid of my laptop i have the screen set to go blank as this is all i want the computer to do.
however, linux also seems to be cutting the power to the usb flash drive that IT IS RUNNING OFF OF!!!!

Hi Rob,

Try this:

Go to System --> Preferences --> Power management.
Go to the " On Battery Power" tab.

When laptop is closed "blank screen"
Uncheck "Spin down harddisk when possible"

Let me know if that helps

B
