Can't find correct apps directory to apply fix

Asked by Charles Hackman

Very embarrassed, but can't find Apps / directory containing gnome-power-manager / general! (have MSI Wind U-100 clone, also EEE-PC 701 with similar problem of inexorable shut-down on unplugging mains despite separate applet reporting 98% battery left).

I am logged on as administrator, but cannot find correct Apps directory in File System.

Can someone less dumb than me help?
