Panel

Asked by Nicolas Panozzo

Some of the icons on my top panel disappeared. Volume control, Printer and Connection are gone.

Do you know how to set them back up?

You should take a look in System --> Startup Programs; right click the blank space to the right of date/time and the User name button and move it to the left. The buttons should be back.

Good luck.

I didn't actually understand what I am supposed to move to he left. The date/time or the User name?
I don't see the missing icons anyway.

try setting your display to 1024x768 see if that helps ..if they got deleted you can right click the items in your drop down list and add launcher to panel to restore them....

I am actually referring to the icon that usually appears when you print something on the top right panel, the volume control and the connection icons which normally are on the top right panel by default.

I am wondering why they disappeared if they are default in the GNOME desktop for Ubuntu Karmic. Is there anyway to reset the default panel?

Hi :)

Try right-click on the panel and choose "Add to panel" the items should be in there. It's probably easier than reinstalling gnome-panel from Software Centre or "Fix broken packages" in there.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
