USB flash drive not visible on desktop when inserted

Hello every one,

I need your help in solving a problem regarding USB flash drive when inserted does not display nor mount on the desktop Before, it will mount and be displayed on the desktop. Any remedies to have it mounted and displayed on the desktop.

I have Lubuntu 18.04lts on an i386 32bit computer which i do not want to scrap as it serves my purpose. Please let me know if there is a fix. The USB flash drive is visible by going on settings then disk from there I can mount manually. Your help is highly appreciated.

What file system is the flash storage using?
Do you use the safe remove feature in the OS before physical removal?
