Asked by mwt1x

machine is pentium ii. with Ubuntu. All I did was to try an speed it up with a stick of memory in the third slot. After I put it in and rebooted, I got the message above and tried again but the same. Removed the memory and put it back the way it was before and now it does the same thing with the same message.

Check your BIOS settings, especially the boot sequence.

On an old machine like a Pentium II (over 10 years old), I would think that a battery replacement is indicated. If you still have your motherboard handbook, you can copy the BIOS settings from there. Otherwise, take it to a repair shop.

Can you help with this problem?
