gnome-panel clock applet lacks internet synchronization?

Asked by Alexey Osipov

In Ubuntu 8.04 gnome-panel clock applet has the ability to synchronize time with Internet.
In Ubuntu 9.04 beta I don't see that functionality.
The question is: how do I synchronize my computer time with Internet time in Ubuntu 9.04?

In 8.10 that facility is also missing and I would think that the procedure to synchronise would be the same in 9.04.

Open the clock applet, unlock it and you will see a configuration set to "Manual". Click on that and you will be offered the option to "Keep synchronised with Internet Servers". When you click on that, you will be offered the option to install the ntp service.

Then set your Servers.

Access the Time setting facility via System, Administration, Time and Date not via the clock applet on the top panel.
