background image gives artifacts

Asked by Kevin Brubeck Unhammer

Is the panel background image-function just bugged, or does it work for other people here? When I set a background image on the panel I use for tasks and trashcan, I get weird artifacts/messed up text and half-overlapping icons in the Window List and icons etc., while it shows fine without the background image. The trashcan, volume, battery and clock etc. icons are also pretty messed up, while other icons show okay. Transparency is fine. Anyone have any way of fixing this Minor Annoyance?

that's the problem with corresponding applets. yes it happens to everyone. applets should listen to the panel configuration changes and change their background accordingly, the code to do that probably may be copied from working appllets to the misbehaving ones.
