printer wont print

Asked by Progress Nerd

I usually only see a printer icon appear in my gnome panel when I print a document, but I'm currently seeing printer icons for every printer on my network (about a dozen) when I'm not printing anything to any of them. This started happening today (4/11/07) after I installed some recent updates.

Should be able to go into system --> administration --> printers --> global settings --> uncheck Detect LAN printers

That option is not checked for me, and yet this list of printers remains.

It turned out that it wasn't showing every printer, just every printer with pending jobs, which was a lot. I have since upgraded to Feisty and I no longer have the problem.

I have a Hewlett Packard PSC-1210.
This is a printer and scanner in one.
Can you please tell me where I can download a driver so that I will also be able to use the scanner.
The printer is working perfectly.
Regards John

stopped: job-stopped

What is causing this problem?

It was working before last update.

Also I deslected the Detect LAN printer
