Hello Gustaf,
please provide more information.
What distribution do you have installed? To find out that, open a terminal and type

lsb_release -a > lsb_release.txt

What hardware do you have? Specification from the manual for example and you can type, in a terminal,

sudo lshw > lshw.txt

You must type in your password.

How is your internet connection? Dial in, Broadband ...
Do you use a proxy or do you direct connected to the internet?
Do you behind a firewall? If yes have you permission to view and change the configuration?

Please, post the content of the two files (lsb_release.txt and lshw.txt).

Thanks in advance,
                                  Mr Canis

Aye, this content will definitely help. Let us know what kind of network connection or direct connection you have as well. Also, make sure no other computers on the network are taking up bandwidth resources (I know this is stupid, but I just must say it). Did it find the correct drivers for your network adapter/WiFi card, if so?

Some people have had luck by entering

about:config
into the firefox address bar and changing the following value to true by double clicking on it.

network.dns.disableIPv6 = true

Can you help with this problem?
