Every new and different.

Asked by trebor

Am using the ubuntu 5.1 (live) for the first time!!! Naturally, I don't understand much of it yet. First of all my desktop screen size is way to big, and I can't find out where to change the screen size. Every thing is so small, i can hardly read it. Also, I don't have but one icon on desktop. Being use to Windows, I would like to have several icons. Where are all the programs?? The OS seems to be a great OS, if I could ever get it figured out. Please advise, thanks.

The screen resolution can be changed by going to System->Preferences->Screen Resolution.

Applications can be accessed from the Applications menu, and there is no need for more desktop clutter than there is now.
