minimized windows didn't showed on gnome panel

Asked by doom3d

Gnome panels were working perfectly until Today. Now minimized windows disappear, I don't see them on panel.
However, I can switch to those apps using alt+tab.
I use gnome panels with all defaults, ver. 2.16.1

Remarks: Yesterday I visited http://volan.hu, and tried to install a plugin. After that all of my browsers were crashing continuously. FireFox error terminal displayed "error: desktop" before closing.
Today FireFox works without bugfixing, but gnome panel doesn't..

Hi,

Do any programs appear at all in the gnome-panel or do they just disappear when the program is minimized?

James

If the panel is there but there are no icons it's likely you have lost the window list applet. Just right click the panel and choose "add to panel" then select "window list" from the dialog that appears and click Add.

After adding "window list" applet several times, I have discovered small glitches on gnome-panel.
Rightclicking those gray points I have find out, that all "window list" applets were added using 0 min&max width. I have deleted duplicates, changed width to 924, and now it works propely.
It seems, that the applet was resized to 0 or deleted somehow.
BTW, this head area of applets could be a bit more visible..
Problem solved. Thank You for support!
