Installing new Themes

Asked by SiThumper

I am pretty new to this Linux world. so I probably sound like an idiot.
I am trying to install a new them. But I keep getting incorrect file format. I have read the help file on installing a new theme and it says in there that it must be Tar.gz. But there is obviosly something here that I am missing... Any Help?

What is the filename of the theme you are trying to install?

It looks like the theme you are trying to install is a WindowMaker theme, rather than a GTK theme... the gist of it is that the theme you want to use doesn't work directly with Gnome.

You can open the theme in file-roller to get at the desktop images etc. if you like.

Yes thank you... being that it was a very nice 2d-3d pic I thought I would at least use it for wallpaper... thank you for your input
