my integrated microphone dont work and neither the external via jack. everything else about audio sems to work, just mic problem.

acer travelmate 5320, ubuntu 7.10, alsa mixer installed, i cant get my microphone to work, neither integrated or external in skype, audacity, nowhere..

double click the volume button
go to edit and preferences
scroll down and check the microphone,microphone capture,mic select and click close.
now u will see two tabs 1.switches 2.options
in switches check weather microphone capture is selected
in options check weather the right mike is selected.
