How do I remove an unwanted icon from the launch bar?

Asked by Ed Raicevic

I have an unwanted icon in my launch bar and want to remove it. I am using Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS, Gnome - Unity. Tried to right click on the launch bar. No menu appeared at all. Right clicked on the icon and only got 2 options - launch or properties. I looked at question # 204127. I ran the command listed in the narrative (lsb_release -a; uname -a) and got the following result:

LSB Version: core-2.0-ia32:core-2.0-noarch:core-3.0-ia32:core-3.0-noarch:core-3.1-ia32:core-3.1-noarch:core-3.2-ia32:core-3.2-noarch:core-4.0-ia32:core-4.0-noarch

Can you please give a screenshot to clarify the issue.

Use imageshack or similar to make a URL of the image.

Thanks

The screen looks exactly like the image that comes up when I enter the second command you provided in quest# 204127.

Hope this helps because I do not know anything about 'screenshots'. If what I have provided is not sufficient, please include instructions on how to take and send a screenshot. Thanks

If you hit the print screen button (just as you would in Windows) you can save the screenshot in your system, then use imageshack or similar to host it.

I'd like to see th offending icon.

I got the screenshot and then downloaded Imageshack Uploader. Tried to set up account and for some reason it was giving me a hard time. I was missing something. Just to move this along, I sent you an e-mail ( <email address hidden> ) with the 2 screenshots as attachments. Look in the upper right hand corner of my screen and the icon I want to remove is the blue globe. Hope this is enough.

Its a blank launcher icon. What does the text say if you hover your mouse over it?

What does it say under properties? Does it give a filename?
