I can´t get any sound in Ubuntu 7.10

Hey guys,

I just installed Ubuntu 7.10 two days ago on a Soy Vaio 2003 PCG-TR1A laptop. Everything seems to be going well, but I tried to get my soundcard to work and could not. I have little to none experience with Ubuntu and do not know whatto do. It see,s like ubunto recognizes my card, andnone of the volumes is mute (I have followed 2-3 stes of instructions to fix the problem and could not). Whhat else can I do? I have no idea...

Hello there, i know you have tried unmuting the volume, but have you tried unmuting the External Amplifier ? Leaving this enabled on your notebook will cause the problem you are experiencing, try this and let us know please.
