desktop icon and minimized windows don't show in bottom bar ubuntu 12.10

At some point during an update the desktop icon in the bottom let of the gnome bar disappeared. now, also, i cant see the minimized windows. the bar is there, i can see and move between the 4 desktops. I have no idea what appened. Please haelp.

Try to add to the bottom bar this option again. Maybe disappeared for some reason.

Hold windows key+Alt and then right click on bottom bar and "Add to Panel" and from the opened window select to add a "Window List".
